Surviving in a Disaster Situation
Despite the sophistication of modern civilization, it is conceivable that some catastrophic situation could destroy modern living as we know it. It has happened before. Imagine life without electricity! No smart phones, no computers, no internet, no TV, no microwave...!However, our ancestors until very recent history didn't have electricity. Life may not have had mod cons, but people survived for millenia. And the ability to work with wood is one skill that took humans from the stone age to modern times.
So how would you survive such a doomsday scenario? The answer, in part, is to learn essential woodworking skills. Undertake a simple step-by-step course in woodworking. Use your spare time to start with simple woodworking projects, than develop your skills to take on more advanced projects like building a wood cabin. If you are a man, build your own man cave from wood! Encourage your whole family, and your friends, to develop basic woodworking skills.
So, if some catastrophe destroys our world we could one day find ourselves living without modern conveniences. Many people have forgotten, or never learnt, the skills that were so essential for our pioneering forebears.
But knowing how to construct simple housing and facilities from wood, and having the skill to build a boat or a bridge, could prove to be essential for the survival of ourselves, our families and others.
What You Can Achieve
